Real Estate & Development Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a Real Estate & Development Manager to lead and coordinate all activities related to the acquisition, development, construction, and asset management of the company’s real estate portfolio. This role will play a key part in identifying investment opportunities, managing permitting and approvals, coordinating construction projects, and overseeing the performance of stabilized assets.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in real estate development, project management, permitting, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee real estate development projects from initial evaluation and acquisition through construction and stabilization.
  • Support property acquisition processes, including financial analysis, investment evaluation, feasibility studies, and due diligence.
  • Identify and evaluate new development and expansion opportunities within the real estate portfolio.
  • Manage and track the full permitting and governmental approvals process.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, building departments, zoning authorities, regulatory agencies, and other government entities to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and follow-up of permit applications, inspections, certifications, and required approvals.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, costs, and construction progress to ensure alignment with established goals.
  • Act as the Owner’s Representative in overseeing general contractors and vendors.
  • Review and evaluate proposals, contracts, invoices, change orders, and all project-related documentation.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and cost control.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays, cost overruns, or regulatory issues.
  • Coordinate communication among all project participants to ensure efficient execution.
  • Oversee project closeout and final documentation.
  • Support the management of stabilized assets and coordinate with third-party property managers to optimize operational and financial performance.
  • Assist in leasing strategies, occupancy optimization, and maximizing return on investment across the portfolio.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status, budgets, timelines, risks, and asset performance for management and ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in real estate development, construction management, project management, or asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of permitting processes, zoning regulations, municipal approvals, and building codes.
  • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and investment evaluation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Position Objective

To serve as the primary liaison between the company, consultants, government agencies, contractors, and property managers, ensuring that each project progresses efficiently, remains compliant with regulatory requirements, stays within budget, and contributes to the successful growth of the company’s real estate portfolio.
